STYLE RESEARCH
STYLE RESEARCH

First, I thoroughly researched Rotterdam's corporate identity. This gave me a sense of what absolutely had to stay the same and where I had room to experiment. This way, you can still see that it belongs to Rotterdam, but that it's a special event and not a standard municipal website.

LOGO DESIGN
LOGO DESIGN

I find logo design a really enjoyable part of the process because it often makes the first impression. A good logo should be appropriate, memorable, and work in multiple colors. That's why I designed the logo based on my visual research.

RESPONSIVENESS

As part of the project, the concept needed to be fully responsive for phones, tablets, and desktops. This required three different versions, all elements still visible and legible.

MOODBOARDING
I find creating mood boards a great way to get my thoughts on paper and clarify what I'm looking for. I do this for both the look and feel and the typography. This way, I ensure that I'm not just doing something random, but that my choices are made consciously and can be substantiated.
